Trekking around Perros-Guirec

Les Costans enjoys a prime location on the famous Sentier des Douaniers that follows the Breton coastline, also known as the GR34 trail; the ideal solution for a ramble along this spectacular coast. There are lots of walks along the seafront, all within easy access of the hotel.

As you leave the hotel you come to Ploumanac'h, famous for its pink granite, and walking along the seafront you'll enjoy some amazing scenery with the Sept-Îles as the backdrop, and pass through some haphazard granite formations of astounding beauty. At the end of the walk you can pay a visit to the Men Ruz lighthouse or swim out to the 'oratoire' off the beach at Saint Guirec.

Explore the Vallée des Traouiero too, with an enchanted walk through the forest. Take a stroll beside the Kerougant stream that runs between the towns of Perros-Guirec and Trégastel. This natural setting is home to many legends that will appeal to your imagination. In summer, guided tours by lamplight are organised at dusk. The tours are led by storytellers who will show you a whole other side to the valley. You might come across the Korrigans, or Scorfell - a little green dragon that haunted the valley in former times.

And why not take in a view of the pink granite from the sea? There are plenty of options available at the nautical centre - trips by sea kayak, longe coasting, paddle surfing, etc.

Outside of Perros-Guirec, Trégastel also has some great hiking trails. In particular the Renote peninsula where an hour's ramble will take you through some mind-blowing picture-postcard scenery.

A little further on in the town of Pleumeur Bodou, you'll discover the Landrellec peninsula and the Grande Île. Accessible all year round, this large island has a marked 7km trail that takes about 2½ hours to walk. The island was formerly used for quarrying granite and is now a paradise for birds, with an LPO station (League for the Protection of Birds).

There are also opportunities for cycling tours along ‘La littorale’ cycle path. There are lots of vantage points along the route, and you won't be able to resist taking a dip in the sea. We can store your bikes safely in our locked garage at Les Costans.

If you don't have your own bike, the tourist office has an electric bike rental service and is only 5 minutes' walk from the hotel.
